I think that Kendrick lyric is designed as thought-provoking and demonstrating a sense of confusion or disappointment more than being a pedophile apologist.

It's designed to be interpreted in many ways, you're just taking it the worst way.

See this is the kind of arbitrary COMPLEX criticisms of her and her work that just... Doesn't make sense.

Would Formation be MORE impactful without the line than it already was, what with the video and the Super Bowl performance? Were we unable to decipher her stance against police brutality? Really think about it.

It's just criticism for its own sake. And then the Hive retaliates with (probably more reasonable) criticism of Rihanna's lack of artistic contribution, overall laziness with the delivery of her craft, absence of her activism, etc, etc.

Kendrick's line is definitely more problematic than Beyoncé celebrating the traits of her race. I'd consider both of them to be overexaggerated though. They're at risk to be easily put out of context too.
