Lol, I don't think this movie is for ABC's audience. Like MrBeyonceFan already said, HBO is for more mature audiences. And obviously because of censorship. Subscriber services like HBO don't have to be censored because they are not publicly broadcast. Meaning explicit language and nudity are allowed.

It doesn't need to be explicit. I don't understand Beyonce. Why is she not trying to appeal to a wider audience? She is still young. It's not like she's janet jackson with a dying fanbase. There are way more constraints and regulations when marketing to commercial broadcast. Beyonce would probably have to water down her work to something similar to an Adele NBC special which would not be ideal. HBO probably gives her the creative control she needs with this project. I'm sure her and her team have done ample research and negotiations when they ultimately decided to stick with HBO.

I can't believe people are complaining about the channel She's giving us a movie and making it an event ffs. The film will also probably come with the album as well anyway. We are lucky to be getting anything like this as it is.

ATRL is not used to just accept Bey's greatness. We plainly HAVE to criticize her.
