Focus hasn't even outsold Problem's first week. Scooter Always Sometimes Wins
Focus was like a 10-weeks #1 smash on my mind until we got a super annoying chorus (that's maybe not Scooter's fault).
How could she come to Ellen on the release week to touch and smell hunks' nipples instead of performing the song? Where was Scooter then? He was still Ari's manager. Didn't he realize it was so stupid to not let her perform there?
honestly, My Everything should have been her own lil version of the 1989 era. it should have had 8 singles all together.

4. love me harder
5. one last time (with more promo)
6. be my baby
7. hands on me/all my love duo release
8. You Don't Know Me (to revive the era a bit as a closer)
it would have established her a bit more/gave her more hits. My Everything was literally a great album with almost every single track could have been a single and like someone said above, they had nothing to lose, so they might as well milked the **** out the era while they could.
But i'm still happy with how mostly everything turned out. I remember being the hugest (honestly only) Focus stan on her because i still love it and it's freshness/originality. it's a true BOP that deserved better and that's the only thing Ariana truly made me disapointed with. even if a song flops, don't abandon it. you perform that song like it's a 8 week #1 SMASH like many artists have done before. but part to blame was Scooter as well, so i'm glad he's gone because no matter what, Ariana would always play third base to Bieber & even (yikes) Tori Kelly.
so far with this era i'm happy and she's delivering incredible material that could turn out to be her own version of Emotion tbh

Ugh I agree with all of what y'all stated... Let's not forget we got the amazing Christmas & Chill which I honestly still can't stop playing. And it's the anti-Focus. So maybe the underperformance was a wake-up call for her.
My fave has always been Hilary Duff, since I was like 7 but Ariana is making me stan way too hard

Survival of the Hottess (S01E08) is the best Victorious episode ever.
