X-Men in the MCU is problematic. It's deliberately separate in the movie spheres - mutants aren't mentioned in the MCU so how do you just say "oh by the way there's like 2% of the population who are born with better powers than virtually all the Avengers." Plus X-Men is a much darker, grounded franchise that tries to set itself in real history and events, whereas MCU is more light-hearted. I can't see Avengers having a scene like DOFP's opening scene that basically mimicked the holocaust.

There is many plot devices they can use, but I'm not going to force an issue that doesn't need to be fixed from the filming universe. My main thing is the comics and what they are doing there because Marvel doesn't have X-Men in the MCU.
But since we know that Marvel (who owns the TV rights to the mutants) and Fox are working on two TV series together, they may already be trying to put a plan in place for the mutant for the MCU.
