Kanye is not only one of the biggest rappers, but on top of that he's a producer himself -- most of these producers he's come across he's probably done favors for too. It's not as business oriented more as it doing a favor.

This is also where you're wrong. The purpose of stream equivalent is to measure the streams that are similar to a payment of an album.

Kanye got 90K stream equivalents, so his album was consumed similar to people going out and buying 90K albums.

And like I said, unless you have direct access to his financial information -- how are you gonna prove how much of the money he got, and how much he didn't?

Highly unlikely that Sia, Boi-1-da, Cashmere Cat, Chris Brown, The Dream, Kirk Franklin, Kuk Harrell, the Weeknd, Metro Boomin, and the countless other A-list and upcoming producers (way more than on BJ) are BFFs with Kanye and are willing to give him their best work for "publicity". Hell Chris Brown (and probs Nicki) get a payout from features all the time. Especially when he's not releasing it for sales and they are getting nil royalties.

Um I never said they didn't get a payout, I said Nicki and Chris are more likely to do a feature as a free favor if they're friends with the artist.

A LOT of the work done on Pablo was pro-Bono, but there also was work done that cost $ as well, in which Kanye will have to pay.

Kanye literally does his own beats, and when working in the studio with collaborators they come up with stuff. It's more friends working together, then 'I'll pay you $500K to sit here with me and help me on my album'. He even said on Twitter that during the last days of recording Drake came by and helped him with no strings attached.

+ most people who helped with the album (Chance the Rapper, Desiigner, etc) are nobodies who probably were offering help and begging him to let them do stuff.

& when you're a huge producer yourself, other producers generally are willing to reach out w/ no strings.

He definitley pays for all the samples he uses.
