Yes and no.
No in terms of winning the nomination, only delegates count. But yes for what Sanders wants to do. He said the main crux of his argument relies on getting the super delegates to his side at the convention and said he would tell them to support the will of the people. The problem is even being super generous (VERY generous) and he somehow overtakes her in pledged delegates before the convention, he'd still be over 600K votes behind in the popular vote so he can't use the argument of "the will of the people" to help him claim supers. So he'd still lose the nomination
