Umm she is for decriminalizing it

This is a good point! Thanks for the digression because it's certainly an important one.

New York Post (which is held at a much higher standard than DailyNews ) fact checked it and Daily News editors were terribly misinformed and continually asked questions that were PURPOSEFULLY meant to trip up Bernie. try again

Why would Bernie be as accountable than the Clintons on the crime bill? Seems like smart tactics to address them.

The Clintons drafted the bill and both overwhelmingly supported it. Bernie did vote for it, but only because of the bills attached to it. In his speech he is clearly against the incarceration component.
I believe he has been asked about it in the past few months but I'm not sure. I do know that BLM protesters interrupted him at a rally before though.

If Hillary is solely responsible for the disaster in Iraq because of her vote in the Senate, then Bernie needs to be solely responsible for the crime bill that he voted for.
Just using the opposition's logic.

Honestly, this is what it sounds like to me too (not that poster in particular, but the whole 'we can't make drastic changes like affordable healthcare for everyone, we need to take it one step at a time' type of narrative), it's kinda depressing.

He voted in favor of it. If everyone else is to be held accountable, why shouldn't he?

Where the 2016 Candidates Stand on Marijuana
Quote:
Hillary also says we should stop imprisoning people for marijuana use, though declaring marijuana a class II drug wouldn't eliminate the risk that the federal government will intervene at the state level and enforce federal marijuana laws. Therefore it's uncertain how she plans to reduce imprisonment for marijuana use.

As depressing as it is, it's the truth. Current Congress isn't going to go for any of what Bernie is pushing, however Hil has very similar policies that could get more backing than Bernie. It's fine to want free this and free that, but one look at our economy, national deficit, and Congress shows that there needs to be major overhauls in several sectors for any of these things to come to fruition. And in order to get to where we need to be to start implementing these policies, we need someone who is going to be able to lead the country on ALL fronts while helping to repair Congress.
For many, that person isn't Bernie. We know what he wants to do, and it's great, but he has no feasible plans of getting them accomplished and that's the problem.

And what are Hillary's?
She has all these huge numbers in her plans and the only source of it is through "business tax reform" "taxing the rich" "cutting costs" etc. No specifics.

I really hope Bernie pulls a Hilary and actually runs for 2024 since he'll likely lose this one.
I think America in general, the Democratic party, and the generation of young adults then will be more suited for him then and he can win.
Edit: Oh damn, he'll be 82 then. 2024 cancelled.

It's decriminalized, yet you can still go to jail for it. Makes a lot of sense

Well the fact that he's made it clear he doesn't know how to accomplish what he wants, doesn't really bode well for his campaign. Secondly he has zero support now from democratic senators running for POTUS. Not only that but he is planning on do a lot of damage to the DNC if he's elected.. boy he sure knows how to attract bees with honey.

Hillary advocated for the bill, but had no vote. Bernie did have a vote and he did vote for it. I don't hold the vote against him because plenty were in favor of the bill because it was the right course of action at the time. What came of it was a pandora's box. My problem is, Bernie basically has gotten a pass for his vote from from everyone, but Hillary is held accountable to a higher degree than him for it.
