I really don't get how gun manufacturers should be held liable for gun-related deaths. I mean, it's a terrible situation, but the gun manufacturer didn't cause it. It would be like suing Toyota because a driver ran over a bunch of people in one of their cars, or suing Louisville Slugger someone took one of their bats to both headlights (), or suing Pfizer because someone took a Viagra to rape someone, or suing Taco Bell because you hit someone with a burrito and they stabbed you with a spork (yes, that actually happened minus the suing part). It's just ridiculous imo.

However, if it can be proven that a gun had a defect that resulted in a death, or if guns were sold by a manufacturer knowing they'd be used in a criminal manner then they should be held liable. Gun stores should also have protections, but they need to follow proper background check procedures in order to not be held liable.

The issue is that Bernie simply holds the same talking point for each and every event I've seen him in... Pandering is often seen as a negative thing when it shouldn't. It's smart to know the issues your audience is facing. If a community is hit hard by a certain political issue, you should talk about it and what you would do to address. I'm a computer science major and I am about to spend the summer working on secure software engineering research. If I were going to give a talk on my research to other computer scientists, then I would not have to explain basic CS ideas and terminology. I could have a more technical, thorough talk. But if I'm talking to the general public, then I need to dumb down what I'm saying and "pander" it to a way that the audience understands why my research impacts them on a high-level.

That's just good sense.

Yes, Bernie is extremely repetitive, but I don't see why that is really an issue unless you're looking for entertainment. Also I think there is a clear difference between talking to your crowd and pandering. I don't see the example you gave as pandering, but rather just knowing your audience.

An example of pandering is Hillary's constant remarks about how its about time there's a woman president. That one irks me as a woman and feminist.

Bernie and Trump both represent middle White Americans who have entered a new era of economic uncertainty and insecurity. The difference is on who gets the blame: Trump blames immigration; Bernie blames Wall Street. It's a fascinating dynamic!

Are you kidding me? Just because they run two "outsider" campaigns doesn't mean they're ANYTHING alike. Bernie has YEARS of political experience, his supporters are not blithering racists (well, some of them are), and he says what he truly believes, and not what he just thinks the stereotypical Democrat wants to hear
