Paying to record music = Buying equipment to record. You're spending money either way

I don't think I could.

My songs are way too important to me for me to be willing to give them to other people. I could only be a songwriter if I was also a singer, and I don't have the talent or training to make it as a musician.

Hm, I definitely get this. I can't really imagine anyone else other than me having my songs, and I wouldn't want them to.

Because as an independent artist, you are your OWN business. You aren't working for someone else (ex: office clerk)

You need 1,000 STRONG stans (fans who buy your deluxe edition albums, merchandise, go to your shows, retweet and share everything you tweet) to making a good living off of music.


1,000 stans × ($10 CD, $40 Hoodie, $25 Show Ticket, $20 T-Shirt, $5 Poster) = $100,000 per year

Youre 100% right, hopefully I get to record sometime before the summer.
One of the big things I want to do for some reason is just relax and vibe out to my own music during the summer.
