Yep with such an impactful and influential promo spot such as TRL they didn't need the label to pay for play. They would just slay sales with their ever present videos on MTV.

But, BSB had great HOt AC airplay and Nsync did sometimes.

90s and early 00s is literally an era where videos and performances were more remembered than label pushed songs that were forgotten months later.

Legend X got 3 #1's and one top 3 hit because she released all her physical singles.

I was thinking of how everyone on Jive had messy peaks at one point except Xtina. They made sure her singles were done right.

People always come @ the Hot 100 being so airplay allowed during that period, but that was actually good. #6 peak looks messy, but if Hot 100 never allowed airplay like most countries then it would've literally never charted & that obvs looks way more inaccurate.

So many huge hits would've never charted in the early 2000s if the H100 was sales only like most countries. It's a good thing they tracked airplay.
