Math just builds up on prior knowledge. So if you used to screw around before, you first need to fill in your gaps and then it'll be easy.

see i know that's true, but i just can't remember formulas. i'm the type of thinker that remembers things that have meaning to me. so, i'm good at history because it triggered events, which are a tangible thing that stick in my mind. and i'm good at english because i can put new words/grammar into writing, and writing because i try to make all of my essays actually have some kind of point instead of being BS (which teachers really, really like, because so many people BS, so it's a great way to get a good grade).
but with math i have no idea how to remember how to do these things. t test? z interval? what do these things even mean?
