Doesn't matter. It was re-released with 8 (9?) new songs. That's not the same album anymore.

Gaga's selling power was insane in 2009, and those albums as standalone would have sold at least 15m each with 1999 adjustments bringing the total to around 30m easily, but they weren't one album, really. One era, sure, but not one album.

TFM when adjusted sold 38.4M while Britney's highest is 25M. And Gaga sold buttloads of singles as well during her peak, something that Britney didn't.

Also, as previously said Gaga sold 5.5M albums 5 years after her debut when adjusted for inflation while Britney sold 5.1M.

So I don't know what you're going on about.

It depends on the artist, I feel. Nicki could have great success with just Urbab music (as evident by her most successful singles [bar Anaconda] from her last album being Urban), but an artist doing both opens them up to an array of different audiences and business opportunities.

But yes, you're right about your comment about the music scene being more mainstream Pop now in comparison to +10 years ago.
