Then there was this one point I started watching Kingsley videos and my voice naturally began sounding like his and people would come up to me in the eighth grade and ask me if I was gay.

worst thing is that my best friend ended up falling in love with the guy I liked but she "didn't know" I was gay.

and then like four or five years ago she told me she knew because I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. it was so sad.

I went through a reverse bisexual phase actually, where I pretty much accepted that I was gay but then all of a sudden I see this one girl and dated her and realize my attraction to women as well.

I was always physically attracted to females but I didn't develop actual emotional feelings for one until I was like 17. before then I swore to myself up and down that I could never be in a relationship with a girl but now that sounds just fab

Well I remember someone once told me something like, no one ever wants a gay child. If parents could choose, they would never choose for their child to be gay. When you come out to family, especially your parents, you'll never get a positive reaction. It's always something they'll, at best, still love you despite. That was really hard to grapple with.

well the default sexuality in society is straight. from the time we're children we're fed images of straight opposite sex couples, while homosexuality was often hidden or not openly displayed, so people that were non-straight didn't even consider it an option

i'm really lucky because my parents legitimately don't care at all. they were hippies when they were in college, so i guess that's why lol

I don't think it was like an active realization for me, it was just like "oh he cute (I want him)" I imagine straights would be similar.
