As far as the album is concerned, it's obviously not a triumph but nobody in their right mind would deem it a flop when it's the #1 album in her current main market. It doesn't matter what component of the chart led it there. The official chart formula is and will remain more telling of an album's success than the opinions of forum members, myself included.

Worldwide, she needs to work work work and promote a bit though. Let's revisit this topic in a few months

Album sales are VERY meager but she got her certification, multiple weeks at #1, a successful tour and a #1 smash with at least two others potential hits on the album. The era is not a flop at all

Are we forgetting the fact that it was literally given for free? Of course this would affect the sales and of course it was intentional. I'm not even a Rihanna fan but it's illogical to think they were aiming for commercial success by giving it away.

Jay-z who currently is not as populair as Rihanna, gave it away for free and still ended up selling more then Rihanna will. so how is that an excuse ?
