While sexuality and skin color are both innate characteristics, it is much easier to conceal sexuality than it is one's race.
Gay actors can still have the same opportunities as straight actors, if they conceal their sexuality. Not saying that its right or ok that they should have to do that in order to succeed professionally, but the option is there nonetheless.
Contrast this with race/skin color. It's impossible to hide one's race thus a black actor or actress is immediately placed at a disadvantage and limited by the type of roles they can get.
I guess what I'm saying is it's much more difficult to be a person of color in Hollywood than it is to be someone who's LGBTQ.
