Just going to throw this out, but Mexico is one of many nations that the USA has large trade deficits with. Some say that other leaders fear that Trump would want fairer trade deals, ones in in which both countries benefit. Some say that other world leaders may also fear Trump’s strength. Obama’s one of the kindest presidents in history. But many voters feel that the USA should not have to walk on egg shells while other nations become emboldened and increasingly provocative. Basically, Trump wouldn’t take any mess from them.

I dunno about you but I have liked Obama's foreign policy approach, in general. The "Empire" approach I think feels dated, "We are better than you." Is not only false, but also quite insensitive and anything but smart politics.

There are some things that need changing in the foreign policy department, but I fail to see how someone like Trump could possibly do anything but to damage relationships and even cause further damage with conflictive nations. The guy smells like WWIII

Give Trump some credit. He'd surround himself with experts. As tough as he comes off as, he listens and studies too. Leading a nation is different from leading a business, but he's done the latter well for decades. You don't get that far without having leadership skills and some good decision making.

And I don't deny he's said some crazy things.

But the outage over his candidacy has officially exceeded whats warranted. And I think that when clearer heads prevail (months down the road) and people realize that despite a few truly bad statements, he's not nearly as bad as he's been portrayed, people will gravitate towards him. He'll be the underdog, ant-establishment, made it here against-all-odds, "tells it like it is" candidate.


I'm basically saying that the sensationalism of his vices will backfire, and ultimately be beneficial for him. Am I wrong? Perhaps.

I know what you mean, and I think it could happen to a minor extent. I don't think from now until November is a long enough time to really reverse his public image, but I do think his media coverage is biased and his 'problematic' statements are blown out of proportion. He's also commonly misquoted, which adds fuel to the fire. I don't think this will change; if anything, the increased media coverage once he's the nominee (if he is) will guarantee that his villain edit is perpetuated. Probably a bad thing for American media, but a good thing for the election, so I can't complain when it's helping my candidate

He hasn't insulted half that list though?. Insulting a single person (or people) of a demographic, does not equate to insulting the entire demographic.

Even his most infamous comments about Mexicans are not an insult to Mexicans. At best, they're insulting to illegal immigrants from there, since they were the only one's whose character he's spoken on.

He insulted individuals because of those attributes. Case in point, when he insulted Megyn Kelly, his insults were geared at her being a woman, this he insulted women, not just her.

But, there's the inevitable change in coverage that will take place at FOX news. They may hate his guts, but they'll never hate him so much that they promote Hillary over him.

Also, I think the dynamics in general will change on the more neutral stations, like CNN.
