I somewhat agree that those attributes apply to her, but the superlative you're using here, while reflecting what seems to be the general opinion towards Hannah, is largely uncalled for and quite simply untrue.
- First, we could go all the way back to season one, where at the very start, her parents simply dumped her onto the streets with no money. Fast forward a few months, and she's the one who has to stay calm and keep her life together while the marriage of her parents falls apart in front of her eyes. Despite her parents' unwelcoming attitude, she was nothing but supportive towards them. When asked how she was doing and how she was reacting to her parents' dispute, she said that it was not really about her. Now that's an interesting response because, not only is it an initiative that hasn't been taken y anyone else in the show, but also because it single-handedly nullifies the claims you made against her.
- Then there is her relationship with Marnie. How many times has the latter talked to Hannah with disdain and patronized her acting like she was the better friend? Several times. What does she have to show for it? She basically left Hannah in several of her most difficult times. She slept with her gay ex-boyfriend. She slept with Shoshanna's ex-boyfriend. The only other character she has not royally screwed over is Jessa, and I think that's just because she hadn't had the opportunity to. Now I do realize that not everyone exactly fancies her personality, and I am aware of the fact that the words "selfish" and "egocentric" are often used to describe her, but the vitriol she receives is nowhere near as grave as it is with Hannah, inexplicably.
- Even if you were to disregard the atrocities that these characters have subjected Hannah to, you can't forget how Adam has treated her over the years, She supported him through thick and thin (which seems like a common attitude Hannah has had with her friends, as unrequited as that attitude might be). What did he do? He cheated on her and was unapologetic about it. Besides, should I even get started about Jessa? I think her nonchalance towards Hannah's wellbeing is quite self-explanatory, isn't it?
That being said, I realize that Hannah is a character that comes with its faults, but to say that she's the most selfish on the show is definitely an idea that was formed by some form of unconscious propaganda created either by the show itself or the reviews and the response the show has gotten over the years. Sorry, for the essay, but saying that about Hannah really annoys me. I don't know why but it does.
