There's slight differences, the earlier years this decade had more aggressive loud synths leading the production of songs as opposed to the calmer house "minimalist" sound that's dominant throughout today's pop music, but I get what you're saying....
Electronic Dance Music has literally been the main type of music in the mainstream this entire decade, and before people come @ me with "wat no stuff is more tropical house/trap now", ALL of that falls under the large umbrella that is Electronic Dance Music. The production of 95% of the songs on the radio are all synthesized and made by the same five 40 year old swedish men behind computers, it's quite disheartening to realize how homogenized and uninspired pop music has really become
I seriously think it's a huge reason people stopped buying music, every song sounds like the next
