The issue with free college is there would be ABSOLUTELY no motivation to work. The only reason my a** is working hard is because I know my parents are paying for it. And there is NO way we could afford it. I think thats Bernie's single-handed worst issue. He has no way to back up the fact that at this time, free tuition isn't plausible. I know that and most Americans do as well. The college students (even though I'm one too) fail to understand the concept of over-promising and idealism. Bernie Sanders represents college students in the sense that they all want free tuition and freedom of student debt/loans. However, he fails to acknowledge that these instituions pay the teachers and maintain campus's through the money they receive from students. Sure it would be convenient, but even I know that free college would be a huge de-motivator.

Let's take this hypothetical question for example?

'Will you lower military spending?'

'Well, let me tell you something. The military do great work and our vets need to get the healthcare they need when they get home from serving our country. The war in Iraq was a massive mistake and we should have never went to Iraq. Secretary Clinton voted to go to Iraq and you should pay attention to that. The Military is a great thing, they protect our country and it's important that we keep investing in such. I will try very hard to strategically negotiate military spending so as to make sure we are safe.'

I mean, this is just an hypothetical question and answer, but you get the point.

The government can pay for tuition. Should they? No. This is the one issue that solidified my support for Clinton over Sanders.

First off, please stop with the personal attacks. I've been critical of all the campaigns not just Trump. I made it clear months ago I wasn't actively supporting him anymore.

People are not being escorted out of any rally just because they are a certain race. That is literally not what is happening. Only protesters of any race if they are causing a disruption. Stereotyping any group is not a good look.

Thats my main issue with Bernie. Love the guy as a person, but he never provides you with coherent plans. It hurts Hillary SO much that she doesn't explain that to her supporters.

Bernie: the top 1% already pays 50% of the entire federal income taxes in USA. How much more do you want to take away from them? If you do that, chances are they will flee to tax haven countries, and when that happens it will cause a disturbance in the working class economy.

This. I worked incredibly hard in high school to try to secure myself as many scholarship opportunities as possible... To me, it would be extremely discouraging to have any work ethic if any person can go to college for free so long as they're accepted. My motivation came from the fact that I wanted to be able to have scholarships and that paid off. I ended up with a full tuition scholarship and a few other ones as well and I pay really little for my education.

Of course, there are people that aren't as fortunate as me and deserve it just as much or even more than me. But, I do not think opening college tuition for everyone as being free is entirely right. That's just my opinion.

I think it should be free for those with lower income. How can you expect people in poverty to get themselves into even more debt? It's just not right.

Like how is he going to hold murdering police officers to account? He said he was going to make it mandatory to have DOJ investigate cases in which suspects have been killed during apprehension.

I totally wish more college students/younger voters understood this. Bernie making college tuition free would result in some of the lowest GPA's on record. LOL

Instead of trying to find money to pay for college I think it would be smarter to offer incentives to reduce the overall cost. Like why is the govt giving money to any school that charges 50k tuition and $500m dollar endowment?
