If you really want to pin at this, I'd have preferred MAMAMOO to have received this exposure and success with Um Oh Ah Yeah. Like, I still like You're the Best, but it's certainly not their best.

If you're that desperate to accredit it then just say at least it gave them the exposure to smash with You're the Best.

I like RV and I really wanted to like The Red since ICC was pretty solid but I can't force myself tbh.

From the pre-debut tracks with Bumkey, K.will, Wheesung, etc. to making clever branding a priority over clever music, to the placement on Immortal Song, the nerdcore pandering of talent, the fanservice shenanigans to finally that hit summer song -- it's all just part of the process.

I'm not mad. I just prefer the song. It's like saying I wish [album track] would have been a better title in any example. Just a matter of preference. I know You're the Best is still good enough to warrant being a hit, I just wish Um Oh Ah Yeah has been the comeback to make *this* (their current endeavours) happen.

I'm strongly agreed with this, The Red was a 'good' album but at the same time I barely listened to it outside of the Dumb Dumb and Oh Boy. I liked ICC much better.
I actually think that SM's three girl group full albums weren't of that different quality in terms of album tracks last year, I know that probably won't be a popular opinion but  Definitely still F(x)>Red Velvet>SNSD, but not by anywhere near the level of say Pink Tape>IGAB or Red Light>Mr Mr.

Compared to the mere 14 times I've played You're the Best since Sunday, all this excitement and happiness has given me a renewed vigour for the song.
Having it on repeat now pushes it past Ahh Oop! (@ 329 plays, and what an era for me) on my last.fm to become my most played song by MAMAMOO and my 11th most played song overall, although potentially like 8th depending on when I decide to go to sleep ashdajsdhjasfg.
I haven't gone this hard for a comeback/title track since Red Light, and that ended up my most played song of all time.

Rainbow, Dal Shabet, and Stellar all doing better than expected Sting has outsold Marionette and Prism and Naturalness are only like 1k away from outselling Innocent and Joker Is Alive.
