Fair enough. At the end of the day its not the position but what the candidate manages to get done. If he plays a crucial role in the administration then it might serve him better. I've always doubted the credentials of a Congressman in terms of presidential campaigns. With Governors they've run states, Secretaries have run departments, but Senators/Reps. haven't experienced the responsibility that comes with the Oval Office.
The problem with Castro is that he didn't see a run for Senate or Governor possible. He's from Texas, and it'll take a few more cycles before Dems find success there.
