Ariana's songs were actually MASSIVE on streaming, and they were more global for sure. 
Selling more =/ bigger, in the last years more than all.

Denmark and Norway don't use Ö. Don't think there is a reason behind it for Meghan. It just looks cool. Don't know who else uses it.

So, using your logic, Bieber and Rihanna are bigger than Adele since they stream more than her 
Bigger sales are still high standards, specially in this sales climate, which makes the feat more impressive.
