I fail to understand how she has an album with production from bloody Max Martin and has introduced a more sexualised/ less Disneyfied image with killer songs like Cool for the Summer and is still struggling like she is.
It's also super weird considering her celebrity status has almost certainly increased during the last 9 months. I think moving on to the next album would be smart, but only if they iron out the creases from this era.
A lot is riding on this single, and I just cannot see it taking off even though it deserves to.

But CFTS and Confident were bigger than HA and MiTUSA. The problem is that they are not sending the third single for radio adds (they are, but like 2 months later, which is stupid). This is messing up everything.
The album did sell way less than DEMI, but the fact that there is no single isn't helping at all. And if you take into account SPS you can see that it has done fine till now... but they are messing things up. They should have just sent Stone Cold for radio adds and let the era end afterwards. This could still go Gold in the US under new RIAA rules.
