She's still considered a huge star there (mainly because there hasn't really been any other Hispanic women to cross over into American pop music in recent years), but more in the vein of someone like Jennifer Aniston.
As far as her music career goes, she's kinda like Bey there in that she's been hopping on more current artists' collabs to distract from her recent lack of solo hits. She's allegedly recording Spanish music again, so she'll probably regain some lost traction.
