The HillarySisters are just acting like she's this huge civil rights activist and I'm saying she isn't. She really hasn't done as much for the black community as these people are trying to make me believe.

No one has made Hillary or Bill Clinton for that matter Civil Rights Activists, that would be certain Bernie fans. However, she has done some good for the black community. From joining protests in the wake of MLK's assassination, to orchestrating sit-ins, lectures, informationals on how to pressure her all girls university to recruit more females of color to attend and to finally get black professors on payroll. Plus, after she graduated from Yale Law, she could've gone and work for a major law firm, but she took a low paying job with the CDF.. She did her work with the Children's Defense Fund, helping investigate that the Nixon admin were not enforcing the ban on granting tax-exempt status to "segregation academies." Going undercover in the south with this type of work was dangerous, but she did it and it's admirable work to have done.
She also helped lobby, advocate and champion the SCHIP/CHIP and Violent Crime bills in the 90s. The CHIP program brought insurance availability for MILLIONS of black and hispanic children. The Crime Act was suppose to help combat the crime that polluted neighbors of multiple cities. Blacks in the 90's were begging for law enforcement to step it up and went to their community leaders and congressional members to address the problem. The Clintons did what they thought would help the communities out, along with the Congressional Black Caucus members AND Bernie Sanders, by passing it through. However, it opened the flood gates to disproportionate mass incarceration for blacks.
This on top of registering Latinos in Southern Texas to vote after she finished Law School as well. She's done and advocated for things that benefited people of color. Some things worked, some didn't. I nor do I believe anyone will ever champion her as a Civil Rights icon or leader, but she has done and has proposals for other things that benefit people like me, and for that, I am appreciative and open-minded to her.

I don't like Bush or his policies, but he had leadership skills and he had high favorability among Republicans. I will never understand those elections, but I was too young to witness it, but it's one thing to say you disagree about her having leadership skills, but to say it after I'm telling you 90% of all African-Americans and most of the Dem base backing her agrees she should be president. So maybe he should evaluate his feelings about Mrs.Clinton
"I don't agree with her leadership skills" and "She has no leadership skills" are too completely different things.

The other day I was just watching her speech after she won the 2000 Senate election. She talked about racism, mass incarceration, women's rights, discrimination among LGBT in the work force, etc.
16 years later and here we are. The way people speak on her is complete bull. She has basically fought for the same things for decades now.

I dont think Hillary's camp should upplay the 'mathematically impossible' argument. I like the 'I'll fight for every vote' lines better.

And to add on, my post wasn't to condemn or put down Bernie fans. I just take issue with this non-stop rhetoric that floats around, not just from Bernie supporters, but even among fellow blacks that Hillary and Bill have never done things for the black community. They've done plenty over their years in and out of public office. It's discouraging and disappointing to see people play down or putdown some things they've done, with good intentions involved. I'm not blind, I know they have their fair share of corrupt shenanigans and have my moments of disappointment in them, but I do believe the media and certain conspirators feed in and play up their own propaganda against them. Every good intention they have at times or most times for that matter is picked apart and they're vilified for it. That comes with being in the public eye for 3 decades like they have. The fact that they continue to truck on and keep on keepin' on, I love that. It's fitting that she has "fighting for us" as her campaign slogan. She's been fighting a long time. In politics, women have to worked twice as hard to be half as good as the male dominated political world.

Thank you for this and your add on. I said the same thing (through multiple posts) numerous times in this thread but people just didn't see it I guess. Hope they read it here though. As well as your add on

Particularly LGBTQ rights. People act like being against same-sex marriage at one point meant you were completely against LGBTQ individuals as a whole... Then they'll act like Bernie didn't evolve on he issue and was always pro-same-sex marriage.

Anyone with basic political knowledge of the presidential races know this map is fake. In what world is Alaska ever democratic? There was a chance in 2008 before Palin I guess
And why is Tenneesee crossed out even though it is blue in this pic? Dummies

To give credit to Bernie, he has been staunchly pro-gay marriage & gay rights for a long time.

It's a joke, but his stanning of Bernie is not, he truly supports him. I feel a little bad he bought this. I told him we'll debate more after the next round. Don't want to seem like I'm hounding his posts.
