I actually enjoyed her time at Def Jam. Promo was on point and overall it was an exciting time for her music career. Hopefully Epic will give us another smash...

She signed with the Work Group in 1998, where she released her first album, On the 6, in 1999. Work went under and folded into Epic Records, where she released her music until 2009, when she only had one album left in her contract. She then signed to Island Records, where she released one album. She then released a greatest hits album in 2012 to complete her contract with Epic. She then signed a joint deal with RedOne's record label and Capitol Records. She then ditched RedOne and remained solely on Capitol. Her deals are weird because while she was at Capitol, she still also owed Island one more album. But that deal might have just been for Universal in general.
