Like, it IS part of democracy to lay out several options during a PRESIDENTIAL election, people should be able to choose from a variety of candidates, liberals don't owe Obama any vote just because he'd been president for 4 years, it would have been/should have been OK if someone challenged him in 2012, it's just fine, it's part of democracy, it should not be a big deal. Obama was a great president and Bernie acknowledges that and mentions it all the time, suggesting to have someone challenge him 2012 is no big deal, it's very overrated.

I agree with you that it is part of the democracy and
should not be a big deal.
But for voters who love the President and saw Bernie using similar language to the GOP opposition, it does give a moment of pause. I can see how it can influence some people's vote.
For me, I was shocked for a moment and was able to move on. For others, it fits into a larger narrative.
