You can also check Smogon for move sets if you're struggling and use my personal favorite, Bulbapedia to see what moves a mon gets. ^_^

Isn't the person at the battle resort an IV checker though?
As far as I know the only way to check your exact EV's is to save and use a reset bag in super training and it will show you how many EV's you lost, then reset the game.

There really needs to be a better way to check EVs. I am trying to train a mudkip and was confused the entire time

Oh yea, got the two mixed up. Ooopsies.
Yea, this is the only way. They should implement a better ev checking system, tbh. Just like with IV's.

Just reading back a few pages.. Diamond/Pearl put me off playing Pokémon tbh (too easy, boring, and geared towards gals younger than I, I think). I skipped the BW/BW2 era and hopped back on for X/Y. Just finished my first playthrough of Alpha Sapphire
It's cute but I have no desire to play it again.. So I picked up an old copy of Black to see what I missed. I beat the first gym this morning and I've been WINCING at the sprites. The ugliness is just too much but I can already see me doing a few run throughs as I'm not so familiar with the era.

You should play BW2 when you're done. You won't regret it

I'm about to buy Pokemon red version the feelings even though I'm between Red and yellow version but I think I'm going for Red since it was my first Pokemon game I actually played from start to end.
Edit: I also had Yellow but never finished it lol

Be prepare for meltdowns when your only pokemon is Pikachu and the first gym leader is a ground/rock trainer

Medicham and its mega are flawless. Also, one of the best mega's in the meta. Almost everything drops to a M-Medi if it doesn't resist it.
Plus, the design is so unique.

Terrakion looks a mess. Cobalion is flawfree, especially that shiny.

No? You can catch a Mankey, Butterfree, or Nidoran before Brock which can all solo Brock easily.
My lvl 12 Nidoran solod Brock with Double Kick. It's really easy to beat brock in Yellow.
