Sam is talented, but that song is awful. I guess they went for the safe choice and didn't want to get "political". So lame.
Are y'all for real? there would've been nothing political about awarding a song about. There isn't a small round table of five people deciding who wins. It's the entire academy.
I actually thought that if Gaga didn't win,it would be to that song from "Youth",which arguably was the most deserving one.
But someone said Adele was like only the 2nd Pop singer(to Cher) to win Best song. So this should be unsurprising, we know Gaga isn't nearly as praised as Adele was after the 21 HURRICANE.
In retrospective, this outcome should have been more obvious, still most of the predictors had it wrong.
Lolololol those who were staying up to watch 'the queen' win
It's okay. She still gave an amazing performance which got a standing ovation and tears from the audience, and the fact that she was nominated was amazing. She's also got Grammys and a Golden Globe to go home to.
I am furious not only because Sam Smith is white privleged male mediocrity who continues to be a cheap knockoff of Adele's legacy, but more-so that a song written by two WOMEN who went through a TON of emotional & physical damage & remain surviors to this day, created a song with a powerful message managed to lose to a song with no message or melody whatesoever.
And so the Sam hate begins. In all honesty, you white gays on here should be rejoicing. You scored a win either way whether Gaga or Sam won so idk why yall are bitching. I can't imagine the outrage if The Weeknd had won.
