Right?! Have they not checked Work's pop updates? For a #1 hit, it's not really doing as well as it could be if it were a more pop friendly song(and no, I'm not just talking about today's update). Work's situation is gonna come down to pop looking foolish and dropping it or pop being forced to play it because it's continually the #1 song in America.

No way. The lyrics are way too urban for it to be played on pop, even with a pop remix. Half the song is getting bleeped anyway. It was the first Anti song I heard on the radio back when Anti dropped (on an urban station) and it sounded awkward because of all the bleeps.

But we're not aiming for top 35 pop/#1 urban/#1 rhythmic l/top 30 hot 100 hit; we're looking for a legitimate top 10 and while I agree with others saying KIB will underperform, I think it's the best choice. Rihanna releases a ballad EVERY era. The question is which one will she choose and that song is usually the second or LAST single every era. Seeing as KIB is coming second its definitely going to be a ballad that closes out the era. And the choices are:
Love On the Brain
Never Ending
Close to You

in the order of Most likely to least likely.

I still see the era ending by the next Grammys unless we get a re release or something which I hope doesn't happen.

Work . (Should PEAK by April on radio)
KIB (March - June) (international) (April-July) (US)
Needed Me (May-July) (US only/Urban radio)
Desperado [July - Sep]
Love On the Brain (October - January)


the album isn't very Pop friendly. The second single needs to be a Pop smash if the album is going to have legs. So KIB has big shoes to fill.

She should wait like a month from now cause Work is way too strong on both urban & pop, it just got a video, is #2 on iTunes and #1 on Spotify

Then I think she should go with Needed Me on urban as it's already smashing and the last thing we need is Lov7 Song situation again. When it comes to pop and Europe I think it's time for a ballad now so Never Ending is the best choice.

When they both die she should release Kiss It Better with Bruno Mars. He would write his own verse instead of repeating the actual one second time. If it does good she should go with Love on the Brain OR Desperado to finish the era

Needed Me could dark horse whatever the 2nd single is, especially in US. Its popularity is really impressive, I'd not be surprised if Urban jumped on it as soon as they get tired of Work.

These are certified flops in America but Europe loves Rih ballads, plus they can actually sell the album unlike Work and it desperately needs it.

I'm a huge fan of it but would radio play it? It's too urban and "in your face". And why release it when you have Needed Me, which is much more popular?

and funny enough those songs were track 1 off their respective albums.

Yeah Consideration won't be a single. I dont see it. She already released her collab on the album as lead.
