Well stated! Bey is making something that other races and cultures in history, and even within our own race, deemed less attractive and more widely acceptable and hailed. This is how you diversify beauty standards. People acting like a non black person singing this offends them are beyond over dramatic. As if the song loses it personal meaning for YOU. I'm black and I don't have Jackson Five nostrils nor an afro (even when I was young, my hair has always been fine), so what does that mean for me? I can't sing the damn song?

I think that's part of the reason Beyonce pushed this song so heavily.

I joke about it and have legit damn near laughed until tears rolled to some of these covers, but I honestly think it's beautiful that white people are singing along with lyrics like that. I don't see the harm unless they're doing it mockingly, but if it's out of genuine enjoyment of the song. And that's a good point about singing something like that in first person.
