There's zero precedent, zero written rules to my knowledge. They could panic and go with the runner-up, they could panic and all pack behind Warren or Biden and basically force them to run, they could come out of left field with a random other in an attempt to secure the election with a strong and appealing moderate, they could try to move support behind her VP and have them pick a new VP...
I don't know what would happen. I don't even know if the Dem would be able to get on the ballot, depending on how late the indictment comes.
Of course, she could still keep running and win by promising she wouldn't be fully charged or found guilty or prosecuted or something, and then if she actually is held responsible legally - to an extent that would warrant impeachment - her VP would pick up the Clinton mantle.
