Well there are hardly any eras that are even comparable

But if you reach back to say, Alanis and Norah (the usual comparisons), I think both of their follow-ups stay fairly true to the previous album's sound. Even if you stretch it to like, The Fame and The Fame Monster, TFM is just a another album in the vein of TF (albeit better).

I don't think Alanis' albums were all that much the same, and her dip was HUGE.

I think the original version of 25 was a lot different and she was worried people wouldn't be here for it and rushed a last minute album that still felt similar to 21. The era was ready to go in 2014 but she delayed it.

She said in her Vogue interview the album was originally inspired by Ray of Light and Moby's "Play".

25 seems like the kind of album a writing camp would write for Adele. Which makes me not like it as much as her previous efforts. Doesn't seem as authentic.

I actually agree with you. She definitely went through the motions with this album.

I do hope she has a better idea of what she wants to do next time around. And she better not make me wait 5 ****ing years for either.
