It's simply fresh. The smartest choice anyway would be to send Baby K since she's basically of of the artists who managed to release a good CD this past decade in Italy, her songs are catchy and her image is cool, I'd totally support her. Anyway I know that we have to send someone from Sanremo, so Rocco would be the best imo. Anyway, I already know that I will root for Sweden so... whatever. The last time I supported Italy was in 2012 with Nina

Rocco Hunt might be different for the Italian market, but he just wouldn't work for the Eurovision. The juries would trash him and he wouldn't fare well in televote either. Seeing how it goes for rap entries (Poland and Greece 2014), I don't think Baby K would be a great idea either, unless she sings something pop like "Roma - Bangkok".
And trust me, you won't want to root for the generic song that will win MF when Iveta Mukuchyan from Armenia reveals her song

or just listen to "1944" by Jamala from the Ukraine, that's a song with controcazzi, not those bland Ariana Grande/Rachel Platten rejects Sweden is trying to send.
