I also believe they think he's pandering for reasons already stated and the fact that he and his brothers wore purity rings when they were younger so some people assumed he was only pandering to the gays to shed that image yet he always supported them.

Obviously. But I have seen on ATRL that some called "gay legends" are like that because they go to these kind of events so I decided to include them anyway.

Especially considering the gay community took this disease as their own (even if they're not the only one with it) and decided to give it full attention and support since it affects so many of them.

Also, if you ignore these events, how can he prove his "loyalty"? You can see the interviews and tweets I posted and it also proves ATRL is wrong for believing his "pandering" started just to get sales for his solo career.

Nick has been speaking on the cause since he was a kid and he also helps the cause privately. Didn't you read the thread?

This is the reason I decided to make this thread, because people on here started giving him attention since the shirtless shoot and thought his gay support only started in 2014.

tbh it never bothered me. i guess "pandering" in it's strict definition would be kind of irritating but the reality is that we still have a lot to achieve in the community and i feel like it's rare that we get a famous straight guy speaking out about this kind of stuff. a lot of straight men are still very homophobic (i'm not tryna generalize but just overhearing some conversations i can say that it's still common) and a famous straight man being vocal about homophobia helps even if it's just a tiny bit.

tbh thanks for the receipts tho bc now I actually know he puts his money where is mouth is
