You do realize that 99% of the Asian community in the USA are all either immigrants or refugees. Therefore, they don't have the proper resources nor network to ever become as wealthy as their white counterparts. Even to this day, Asian immigrant millennials are paying off $200,000 student debts on average because their parents have no money to support them. And besides, they all have this idea of graduating from college or uni and landing a good paying 9-5 job. They have to play their careers safe, and not take risks because they know the rest of their lives are at stake on this.

Give it about 10-20 years, and Asians will be the richest group in U.S.A.

That's because most white people's wealth is in the family. Plus, they've had the opportunity to be in high-skilled professions for generations, which means it's easy for their children to go to college.

Asians only slowly began to enter white-collar professions and higher education after world war 2. Since you know, white people basically oppressed everyone. I go to a prestigious public university right now and it's basically 40% Asian, 40% white, 15% Latino and 5% black. Also if I remember reading correctly, Indian and Filipino Americans are in the top 3 highest earning families in the country. And Asian American households as a whole earn the most. Sure, white people have more billionaires, but y'all have privilege and centuries worth of money and opportunity.

the gap in wealth between white people and other minorities is often overlooked tbh. even more staggering than the income gaps.

like yeah, there are avenues for poc to make a lot of money but that's just income. once it stops, there's nothing to fall back on.

The top 1% would represent outliers, to which median values are resistant. If the study had reported mean values then I would definitely agree.

Can't say for certain -- I'd have to look at the methodology directly -- but I imagine they were very careful with their sampling selection and didn't poll too many elite upperclass.
