Just because Applause and Do What U Want weren't Poker Face-level type of hits doesn't mean they weren't hits. So transparent to pretend like Gaga's last actual hit was back in 2011.
Applause is a 3x Platinum top 5 hit that spent 15 weeks in the top ten and sold 5 million worldwide while Do What U Want outpeaked every Britney solo hit in the past half-decade while still being able to go platinum. This all 5-6 years into Gaga's career.
And songs she's releasing into nearly the 8th year of her career are up for major awards.
