Cause if they did then they would probably start seeing that Bernie is the right candidate

I love how one of the go-to defenses of Hillary was always that she "was ranked the 11th most liberal senator", she basically advocates for a similar college policy and is now trying to piggyback off of Sanders' wall st reforms, and somehow Bernie is "sooo far to the left I'll have to vote for an anti-abortion, anti-gay rights, anti-minimum wage republican!"

At least my reason for opposing Hillary is on corruption and moral grounds, but even so it would really only be a protest vote/sitting out the election (as I have the luxury of doing, living in NYC) and I'd support her eventual presidency.

But winning the independents against Clinton doesn't mean much of anything against Trump in the national election

It shows he has more pull against republican candidates with undeclared/independent voters. This can never be a bad thing. I'm pretty sure Clinton supporters are more likely to vote Sanders than the other way around, so whoever pulls better with independents would be the stronger candidate
