Most of Rihanna's discography, like ARTPOP, was released in the busiest sales climate of the year to capitalize on success: November, before Black Friday and the holiday season. Anyone with even the smallest amount of industry knowledge could have told you Rihanna was never going to open with 250K in January with no Spotify or physical release. She's bombing but Rihanna always recovers.
