Luke Bryan is the only current country act who's a household name here, and his music is literally mainstream pop with banjos in the background. Take them out and it sounds like a straight up Dr. Luke production for like 95% of his singles. Most modern "country" is basically pop sung by hicks.
I hope Chris Stapleton takes over. I loved his album.
