I guess this is the conservative side of me, but I see nothing wrong with supporting the death penalty for terrorists who commit heinous crimes. I think we can all agree the current death penalty system is abused and is a gross perversion of the Constitution now though.

No. I just don't agree with the systematic government killing of people. We judge others on murder and that's what the government does with people who may or may not deserve it
I don't believe the eye for an eye mantra. So it's not religious for me (though I will say I'm a Buddhist so that could play a role in it)
