Hence I said vocalist. Whitney doesn't put on a spectacle which is why she wouldn't do a halftime show. The only vocalist/balladeer to do the halftime show is Diana Ross.
And I never said a halftime show requires those things. However, it does require a spectacle. And that spectacle is either provided by rock acts football fans enjoy or pop acts who put on a feast for the eyes.
Don't delude yourself into thinking the national anthem is anywhere as important when millions of dollars get spent on the latter when the NA singer gets announced a few days before the game.
people do care about the anthem singers, you need to be respected to be asked
