Applause was bigger than DIL worldwide. They were about equal in the U.S
It's incredible how low DIL sold though. 1.8M after the big radio and streaming hit it was is just lackluster.
Different from Rhenna and gags, the album was already platinum even before the song was available to buy
1 million+ people already had it by the time it was made available for individual purchase (a REAL, valid, non-purchased platinum certification btw).
Some people are album sellers, some are quick lil single sellers, some are nothing (talking about Gags here).
