I can't name four David Bowie songs either but if artists/groups like Nirvana, Madonna, Queen, U2, The Killers, Boy George, Marilyn Manson and more have cited him as an influence, he's most definitely a music legend regardless of what chart success he has had (which only forum fomos care about).
The only legends I knew about without searching about them, from radio and t.v. were Bob Marley, Madonna, Whitney, Prince, Michael, Nina Simone, Aretha, Janet and Donna Summer. And Stevie and Marvin Gaye.
Mamma Mia! musical says no.
US was they're weakest market indeed, but we all know EU, AUS>US so idk.
Still the best pop group ever.
nobody knows where the music from that musical comes from. they are bigger one hit wonders than carly slay with a dated trash discog that no one knows or cares about
Bowie got a bigger boost because only like 5 people bought his music digitally. People have always bought GODney music before so her boost was slightly less.
It's like how Katy only got a small boost from the SB. Everyone already bought her music before.
There is a discussion about Madonna's albums and how great they at least twice a week in SYG. Are y'all gonna start pretending she's not a music legend when she passes away, too?

No but then again she has critical acclaim, Grammys, presense in media and everyday life and is the best selling solo artist that didn't molest 8 year old boys. See the difference?
