Reality. Proposing a single payer system is a complete waste of time right now. The US isn't leaning that far left yet for this to happen any time soon, and such a system would take more than 8 years to create and send to congress, plus gain public approval.

They are different technically. But defacto, Single Payers healthcare is synonymous to Universal healthcare. That is the standard in the western world, presumably because it is the most sufficient.
