Actually since IA leans more white liberal than any state besides NH and Vermont, him not winning - even if he did well - shows that there's more support for Hillary than a lot of Sanders campaign members and some pollsters would have had us believe. IA is comprised almost entirely of his core voter audience, and remember Hillary and her husband both lost here. It's a very good thing for her to win by any margin.

Not really. Trump was never a guarantee to win Iowa. Secondly, no person who's won Iowa has gone on to win the nomination in Republican Party politics. Notice the all of the most conservative candidates win in Iowa but they never do much more than that. The Republican Party is going to have to kill Cruz outright and not even be subtle about it.
