Caucus = an two long event where people listen to the candidates (or their representatives) then publicly vote, usually by standing in one corner of the room.

Primary = voting booths more akin to a general election. You anonymously (after registering and verifying of course) vote. It takes like 2 minutes.

Either one can be open or closed. Open means people from either party can vote for either party. Closed means you have to be a registered Dem to vote in the Dem primary/caucus and visa versa.

I hope that helps. That's to the best of my knowledge. I was still learning about this during this election.

So lets say O'Malley does not get the 15%. Then those people will have to choose between Hillary or Bernie. That's why it's crucial for both candidates because they are neck-and-neck in polls. A primary is like the general election where you just go in a ballot and vote for who you want. (An open primary is when you can vote for anyone despite party affiliation. A closed primary is when you must vote for your party affiliation. So Independents can't vote for a Dem or a Rep.)

I think the 15% is only for the Iowa's Democratic Causus, not Republicans.

Caucuses are annoying to explain as they are completely different in different states and for the different parties. Basically, across the state of Iowa people will be gathering in a public area (school, university, town hall, etc.) and gathering with other neighbors to cast their vote in public (democrats) and private (republicans). In order for a candidate to be counted on the Dem. side they need to have at least 15% of the vote in that particular precent (which means O'Malley will probably not be represented in quite a few precents). In a caucus there is a certain strategy on the Dem. side for if your candidate is not viable you go to another candidate. Obama did this with Bill Richardson in 2008 in Iowa. The delegate handout is complicated. NBC does a good job of explaining it though.

I hope Clinton considers Sanders for a major position in her government. I am getting worried about Trump´s appeal. He just outright said today that he wants universal healthcare.

Yes. Coverage will be happening all day tomorrow, but in the evening is when things will kick off.

They may not show the caucus itself but they will have live results and coverage

If Clinton manages to win the nomination I hope she really does consider Sanders for a high position in government. Something economic related makes the best sense if she doesn't want him as a VP

If Sanders wins I hope he utilizes Clonton's vast foreign policy knowledge. Or have her do something related to healthcare

Numbers won't start coming in until at least an hour after the caucus closes at 7 pm local time, but there's no one-channel only "coverage" per say like the debates.

Nothing before 8pm EST. if they close at 9pm CT as Retro said, results won't be shown until at least 10pm EST. Most likely closer to 11pm EST

There's speculation, especially given how tight things will likely be, that it'll be contested until the following morning. I doubt that, but just to throw it out there as a possibility.

We may not know the exact result that night, but if theres a big turnout (over 180k), Sanders will have a better chance of winning. If the turnout is under 150k, is almost a given Clinton won. Same goes for Trump and Cruz.I am not sure but I think we get turnout reports before raw results, so that may give us a tip on how things went.

I'm really excited for tomorrow's caucuses.

No matter what the polls say, I'm still not convinced that Trump can win the state. I know that a high turnout is projected, which would favor him, but I could see Cruz potentially eking out a victory. I still probably give Donald the slight edge, but I'm not too confident about that prediction.

On the Democratic side, I feel it's too close to call. While it is iffy whether young voters will actually come out and support Bernie Sanders, the Quad-City Times endorsed him today, which might give him a last-minute push.
