I've heard so many bad things about LA, I looked through the attractions and honestly only the walk up to/around the sign, Runyon Canyon and the tar pits looked interesting. Everything else seems tacky. Literally just spending a day and a half there so I can catch my flight to Australia.
San Francisco looks AMAZING, I'm spending 4 days there. The place alongside New York I'm most excited to go to.

The Hollywood Sign hike was actually nice albeit super hot. Hollywood Blvd was ghetto and grimy I wasn't there long enough to explore outside the usual tourist stuff but yeah it didn't impress me much.
There's loads to do in SF though, such a gorgeous place.
