All The free concerts beyonce and coldplay gave for Tidal did nothing. Rihanna releases an album and it has 1 million new subscribers (it had 900K before so the number more than doubled)
In a day and age where Adele and Taylor Swift sell 10 million copies of albums but no one else can do anywhere near that number, it seems to me like album sales aren't really the end-all-be-all. Marketing and trendsetting are what makes something a moment in time that can't be erased, like Beyonce and ST. Anti was like that but to a lessor degree.
Born This Way wasn't bought at 99 cents, it was SOLD for 99 cents. Amazon paid Interscope the full amount for the albums that they sold on their site for one day, and 100% of what Gaga got from that payment she didn't even authorize went to her and not part of it to Beyoncé's shared bank account with Jay-Z like Frihto's.
Either way, ANTI will never see Born This Way's giant sales.

Except Rih is getting a platinum album which is on it's way to being more acclaimed than Artpop while Lady Gaga's music career is dead just 4 albums in?
