Except Madead had boundary pushing, genre re defining music. Madonna is Madonna because of Erotica, American Life, ray of light and Confessions not because of Like a Virgin, True Blue etc. Just because she thinks like a businesswoman doesn't mean they can in any sense of the word be considered equals or anywhere near.
